
Minimization (reduction) of threats (risks) to the life and health of the population of the region, in particular, Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia, which is associated with the lack of radiation shelters to protect the population from the means of destruction of the Russian occupation forces and, in the future, after de-occupation, in case of a possible accident at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Project Objective: Construction of anti-radiation shelters or dual-purpose structures that will provide shelter for 81,000 people living in the Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia in the event of an emergency.
Effect:
✅ Ensuring the protection of the population from enemy shelling in the context of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine
✅ Increasing the number of available radiation shelters to protect the population from the impact of hazards that may arise as a result of an emergency related to ionizing radiation exposure in the event of a radiation accident and radioactive contamination of the area
Need:
➡️ Financial: funds for the construction of radiation shelters or dual-use facilities, including design costs, materials, equipment and labor
➡️ Technical: Providing technical expertise and advice on the design and construction of structures, supply of specialized materials and equipment, such as radiation protection materials, ventilation systems and emergency lighting
➡️ Logistics: assistance in the delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site
Total project cost: EUR 337 million.
