
Issues:
The regional center is located near the front line, so it needs to improve energy security and ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure of the city and neighboring communities by implementing a distributed generation model and creating energy islands.
Objectives:
1. Provide electricity to two Dnipro water supply stations of the Vodokanal utility company - DWS-1 and DWS-2, which provide drinking water to about 1.2 million residents of Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region and heat supply facilities.
2. Ensure uninterrupted heat supply in Zaporizhzhia:
✅ 3045 multi-apartment residential buildings
294 social facilities (hospitals, educational institutions)
✅ points of invincibility
✅ 623 other infrastructure facilities
Effect:
➡️ Supply of electrical energy to two Dnipro water supply stations of Vodokanal - DVS-1 and DVS-2, which supply drinking water to Zaporizhzhia and settlements in the government-controlled territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
➡️ Supply of the Concern “City Heating Networks” with its own electric power, to increase its resilience to power outages.
➡️ Ensuring uninterrupted operation of the critical infrastructure of the city and neighboring communities in the region.
➡️ Reduction greenhouse gas emissions.
➡️ Containment tariffs for heat and water supply.
The need: Installation of cogeneration plants of various capacities of gas piston and biofuel with location at 13 facilities of the City Heating Networks Concern.
Total project cost: EUR 53.3 million.
