The old, washed-out surface of the Arch Bridge pavement does not provide the necessary protection of reinforcement against corrosion (there are corroded reinforcing bars). The concrete surface has cavities, sinks, and traces of concrete delamination. The road surface is damaged, the waterproofing of the pavement is broken. The metal connection between the road and the bridge above the pier is destroyed. The bridge needs reconstruction.
Project objective: To increase the capacity of the Arch Bridge, which is used as a detour due to significant damage to the roadway of the DniproHES dam.
The reconstruction of the Arch Bridge will allow:
✅ Reduce the load on the existing transport system of the city of Zaporizhzhia
✅increase the service life of the existing structure
✅improve the quality of the road surface reduce the number of accidents among road users
After the reconstruction, the Arch Bridge can be used in case of emergency evacuation of the population (664,000 people) or for the movement of various types of equipment (including military).
Needs:
➡️ building materials for reconstruction (metal structures, concrete slabs, anti-corrosion materials, etc.)
➡️special transport for work
➡️special equipment for performing work
Total project cost: EUR 3.6 million
