Problem: Since 2015, the museum has been in a state of disrepair and has been out of operation. The reconstruction will allow the museum to be reopened in a new format, taking into account modern needs and requirements for museum institutions
Project objective: reconstruction of the administrative building with exhibition halls and storage facilities, construction of additional storage facilities, construction of a shelter, complete replacement of utilities, taking into account energy saving and barrier-free requirements
Effect:
✅ Preservation of cultural heritage sites of Ukraine
✅ Raising the cultural level of the population, promoting patriotic education and popularization of knowledge of culture and technology
✅ Possibility to open excursion services for the museum (before the war, visits to tourist sites in Zaporizhzhia reached 250 thousand people a year)
✅ Increase in the number of jobs and development of tourist infrastructure on Khortytsia Island
Needs:
➡️ Financial: allocation of funds for the reconstruction of the building of the Museum of the History of Zaporizhzhia Cossacks
➡️ Technical: building materials and equipment for the reconstruction and insulation of the museum building, windows, doors and other building materials to ensure energy efficiency
➡️ Expert: consultations with architects and engineers to develop a reconstruction and insulation plan
Total project cost: EUR 5.5 million
